Transwest RV Service

Grand Junction, Colorado

Moving day! You’re preparing to venture to a new campsite, excited to get on the road. A routine procedure, bringing the slides in, stops your heart when one refuses to move. Panic rises as you fear being stranded in the forest with an extended slide. Yep, that was us two days ago. Our rear slide came in askew and refused to move more than a few inches. Fortunately, I was able to push on the reluctant side and get it to retract so we could get on the road. As soon as we reached Grand Junction, I began a search for help. Thanks to the referral from another local mechanic (thank you, Marilyn from RV Medic), we came upon Transwest. Feeling our pain, the service manager Jeremy made room in a bay for us the next morning. We were mentally preparing for a $1000 repair bill and a day spent in the service bay getting a new motor or gear tracks. Weren’t we surprised when, 20 minutes later, we got a call that it was done! A simple trick to retime the motors was all it took. Well, that and an experienced mechanic who knew the ropes. No charge for the time or repair!!!  (NOTE: We did opt to have our rear slides lubricated as they were overdue.)

So often, trips to an RV mechanic are fraught with exasperation and a larger-than-feared bill. How nice to walk away with the exact opposite feeling. Thank you, Transwest!
